Leave a Meaningful Legacy

If you wish to leave your mark on the struggle for human rights and social justice, please consider leaving a legacy or planned gift to AIDS-Free World. There are several ways to do that. You may:
  • Include AIDS-Free World/Tides Center as a beneficiary in your will for a specific sum or a portion of your estate;
  • Name AIDS-Free World/Tides Center as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy.
We recommend that you speak to an accountant or financial advisor to learn about the tax implications of making a bequest. We also urge you to consult a lawyer to ensure that your wishes are stated in the correct legal form.

For more information about planned giving, please contact Rebekah Knapp at 1 (617) 938-3553.

WILLS

When you write your will, you can make a bequest in the form of cash or property by including AIDS-Free World/Tides Center as a beneficiary. You can also contribute in the form of a residual bequest, which is a gift of all or a fraction of whatever remains after all debts, taxes, expenses and other bequests are paid. Here is an example of the language used:

"I give to AIDS-Free World/Tides Center, currently located at 423 Brookline Ave., # 315,  Boston, MA 02215 the sum of $_______ (or ________% of my estate) to be used in support of its general charitable purposes."

LIFE INSURANCE POLICY

You may name AIDS-Free World as the owner and beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy. A gift of life insurance is separate from your estate and has no effect on its assets. A financial advisor or lawyer can provide you with more information about this form of giving.
